Planning for the Barnes Charity Bike Sales takes many months and wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic team of volunteers. We’re always looking for help. If you would like to donate some of your time to fill one of the roles below, please contact us at bikes@stmarybarnes.org. Thank you!

Bike Mechanics

Join our team of mechanics who assess the needs, lubricate, tighten brakes, replace inner tubes and adjust as necessary to achieve the optimum condition for the bike’s onward sale.

Trainees mechanics are welcomed too!

Admin Angels

With a sale of this scale, there are a lot of details that have to be captured when accepting bikes (logging their donor and the contact details, whether it is 100% donated or 50/50, what should happen to it if it is unsold, a GiftAid declaration, etc).   We need a few more people who enjoy being organised and who like it when things get busy!

Cleaners and Movers

After the bikes have been serviced, we give them a good wash-down to present them in the best possible condition. So, from 21 August, we need lots of people who don’t mind getting a bit wet.

Any time you can offer from half a day upwards is extremely helpful.
